Tonya Harding was no skinny-minnie to begin with, in real life. In real life, too, she was short, husky and quite muscular, with muscular legs.

Tonya Harding, unfortunately, has not aged well, either. Yet, despite her extremely messed-up childhood and adolescence, I can't bring myself to support her, due to the fact that she was involved in an incident that resulted in a potentially crippling physical injury to a rival competitor, co-conspired to obstruct the investigation and prosecution of her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly (now Jeff Stone) and his henchmen, and made a totally unprovoked physical assault on her now-ex boyfriend, Darren Silver, with a hubcap, seriously injuring him and bringing a police warrant down on her own head.
She subsequently lost her very promising skating career, which is really too bad, in a way, because she was an exceptionally talented figure-skater.
Unfortunately, Tonya doesn't know how to take responsibility for her own actions/choices, and is always ready to blame other people. It is a sad story.

Nancy Kerrigan was taller, thinner, and yet also was quite muscular. Women figure-skaters often are.
