Worthless jail
Seriously, this facility is terrible. Why don't they use the cameras the show is using? I thought that was the point of putting them in, and what they told the inmates they were doing? Someone is watching them, because they move around and zoom in on the action.
There is no way fights should be allowed to go on for as long as they do out in the open without a guard noticing. Women shouldn't be ok making out on the stairs in the open, and smoking in their cells, and running around all night. They say they only can view one camera at a time... even if that's true, you'd get to the *beep* sooner or later.
Hey Clark County Jail, I think you know how to fix *beep* you just don't want to. Hire more guards, and actually use those fancy new cameras. Don't let inmates decide where they sleep. Them setting up their own rooms leads right to gang activity and weaker inmates getting harassed.
For reference, I was a guard at a direct supervision jail that housed federal inmates as well as county. We had contracts with the Marshals and ICE to hold their inmates waiting trial. Direct supervision meant I was at a slightly raised desk in the middle of the pod with 60 inmates walking around. There were occasional fights, but wwaaaaaaaaayyyyyy less than on the show, maybe once every month or two, and they were stopped quickly.
