No Drinking Water

Had to make a post about this. Was anyone just completely shocked with how the guards didn't provide water to the inmates for almost 24 hours??? Obviously yes, they are inmates, criminals wanted for drugs, fraud, murder etc. but jeez water is a basic right even in jail.

I realize that the plumbing was off so the guards couldn't fill anything up with tap water but they couldn't go to the freakin grocery store and buy a couple cases of water?? Or some of those big jugs and at least give them a couple cups?

Everyone was getting so amped up and a LOT of it seemed to do with them just not having drinking water. If I was a guard there and feared for my safely I'd shell out a couple bucks at the grocery store for some freakin bottled water. I'm surprised the jail didn't have back up funds for stuff like this!!

Just showed what an awful jail they have, the guards who treated the inmates like crap during the situation are going to feel so embarrassed when they see themselves on TV. The sheriff should be ashamed, even this show isn't going to help. If he needs undercover people to tell him to provide drinking water to inmates he's already beyond help.

I concur, this "reality show" shouldn't be showing the jail officials anything they don't already know since there are security camera's all over those cells/pods. I figure Clark County needed money and decided to take it from Arts & Entertainment Television in return for pretending they have all these issues that can't be resolved on their own.

reply

Ya it's also suspicious that season 2 is in the same jail. I thought they would've gone to a different one that needed help. I mean how *beep* is his jail that he needs 2 waves of moles?

reply

I think season 2 may have been shot quickly after the first one - even before the season one premiere. I base this partly on the snowy exterior shots which are common to both. Unless S2 is just reusing those shots.

reply

I know they were filmed about 2 weeks apart, but Clark County has already had it's chance. Let another jail participate that may actually have a shot at improving lol.

reply

I am a little surprised that are airing it. It is outrageous. Even the pretenders are ready to start a riot! Like you said, get some freakin bottled water! Do they need the red cross to step in?!

I would say my memory is not what it used to be. But I don't remember what my memory used to be.

reply

I was appalled by the lack of decency and humanity of the guard who was drinking water from a bottle. It seemed to be a conscious despicable worthy of a guard in a Nazi concentration death camp.

reply

Yeah, that one guard said they'd give them a 5 gallon jug and just disappeared. So they must have had the means to give them some water. I'm sure they could've called the local fire station or the red cross and had them bring in emergency water.

It was also awful how they treated (or neglected to treat) the sick guy. I don't know what he's in for, but he's still a human being.

Even Dion (I think) said that they're charged for crimes but they haven't been found guilty yet, but they're treated like they're all guilty. Even if they are guilty, a human being needs water and medical care.

reply

The jail probably signed something that waived all their rights in having any say in what's gonna be aired. They just wanted the money and probably did not think this was gonna happen. Lol

I actually said the same thing on a different thread earlier before I saw your thread.
I would have thought they would have some SOP for circumstances like this too. If I remember right, they said that only part of the jail didn't have water (I am not positive about that though) so why could they not bring water from the other areas?
I also think it would have been easy enough to send somebody to Costco/Sams to buy a palate of bottled water to get by. There must be money to cover such a purchase. I for one would have no problem knowing my tax dollars went to purchase the water.
Wasn't it closer to 38 hours that the water was off in one of the mens pods?

I can't die! I have 43 twitter followers that depend on me! oh, and I have a daughter.

reply

Seriously! the cost of 24 bottles of water even at Walmart is only like $3, so Costco could probably have enough for the entire jail for like $100.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
