Bed Rails...

'Duh...

If her alzheimer's is as serious as the show suggest...maybe bed rails would have prevented her from traveling outside and into the snow.

Even now...an alarm.

reply

Maybe that was the first time she had gotten out of bed at night. So from then on, they install the bed rails.

First time for everything. Every day brings something new for Alzheimer's.

reply

Miguel was in the bed next to her for years and years. On her death bed scene...no bed rails.

And don't forget...after Miguel died they still have the health care aid/nurse there.

Season 3, 4, 5 finale...no bed rails.

Rebecca is left to travel out in the cold so Miguel can go ahead again and try break his hip again.

reply

In the death-bed scene, there are no bed rails because she can't even get out of bed by herself at that point.

My Mother-in-Law has the disease. It's a very slow, progressive deterioration of the entire body, starting with the brain. It's very sad. So anyone on this forum discussing it, who doesn't have a deeply personal experience with this awful and tragic disease, please just stop :( :( :(.

reply

She went and got up and traveled in the fucking (there i pronounced it correctly) snow.

Everyone on the forum should be discussing bed rails and Alzheimer's.

I'm pretty sure the private duty nurse suggested it at some point.

reply

Miguel should have known.

Because the show jumps backward and forward do much it's hard to tell at what point she became in needs of bed rails.

But since everyone LIVED on the COMPOUND at that point [and she was as bad as that] and WITH a private duty nurse...someone would have suggest bed rails.

And bed alerts.
