Makes a good start and then disappoints

Watching season 1 for the first time. From the time that the actor skips out on premier night, it's been one bad episode after another. Every episode now there's something that just makes no sense. Seems like the writers ran out of ideas or painted themselves into a corner. Show has pretty much jumped the shark I guess.

I enjoyed the first three or so seasons, but as soon as it went super-woke and started introducing gay daughters and then BLM shit I was 100% completely done.

A Million Little Things has done the same thing. A bunch of them went to a BLM rally and the female black star ends up with a concussion and memory loss, because it was said that "cops are just looking for an excuse to beat up black people". They really, truly said that, which means the writers really, truly believe that grossly unfair generalization.

Also, about 20% of the cast is gay, compared to at most 6% In Real Life. No wonder why the following survey shows that Americans think the gay population is around 25%.

Because, frankly, there have been some racist cops who do look for an excuse to beat up black people, like Derek Chauvin did for years before he got locked up for George Floyd's death. Turns out Floyd wasn't the first black person whose neck he took a knee to. In fact, several black and brown people have accused him over the years as being way too aggressive in dealing with them, and one flat-out accused Chauvin of beating him up just for the hell of it: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/he-choked-me-out-others-detail-allegations-abuse-officer-who-n1259207

"BLM s***"? You do know that BLM is about stopping police brutality against black people, right? Which is still going on to some extent. What the hell is "s*** about that? That's part of fckg real life. Tired of seeing people on these boards fckg whine about s*** that really happens when it's shown on TV shows. Gay people are part of real life, too. Get the hell over yourselves, and grow the fck up. Stop fckg whining about either one of them.

Go read up on the BLM's true origins and leadership. BLM is a Marxist/Communist organization whose social goals go far beyond "stopping police brutality against black people." They don't even hide this. One of the founders is on video stating that the organization has an ideological agenda and that "we are trained Marxists."

Maybe you're pro-Communism, I don't know. If so, then it makes sense you'd be into them.

Who fckg cares? Being a Marxist or a communist is not a damn crime. They're just two of many different political ideologies known throughout the world. Like most Americans (Europeans, Asian, and Africans are more familiar with it) you probably don't have any real understanding of what either Marxism or communism is. I'm not either one, btw.

I read about BLM's origins in books written by two of the founders of BLM. The first one is When They Call You A Terrorist, by Patrice Cullors, and the second is The Purpose of Power, by Alicia Garza. Both of them started out as community organizers---Garza's book in particular goes into the real, gritty-day-to-day unglamorous work of being an organizer, and getting black and brown people in particular to fight for change in their neighborhoods. You could read their books, instead of acting like BLM is something to be scared of. Been to a couple of BLM protests over the years, and had fun meeting up with other activists and discussing the issues they were protesting against. Go to a BLM protest yourself next time you hear about one---they're just regular folks protesting serious issues----they don't bite, lol.

And yet this ideology has consistently lead to poverty, mass murder, and the suppression of human rights, wherever it gains a foothold. Just look at the history of the Soviet Union, the PRC, Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge, and so forth. The Marxism/Communism/Socialism continuum are not benign, run-of-the-mill political ideologies but political philosophies that always lead to death and destruction.

The only people who embrace this way of thinking are either psychopaths, fools, or hopeless idealists who can't see the forests for the trees, and none of the above have any business running a country.

In regard to your last paragraphs, I will throw you this bone: I'm sure that many of the regular folks who get out and do BLM stuff mean well and probably don't even know about the organization's Marxist roots and goals.

We stuck it out for a while, but after 4.16 bailed on the series. The whole incipient dementia storyline has been done too many times before, hits close to home and is just not of interest.
