Why is Randal expected to drop out of his race ?

I know how polls works and candidates dropping out , but why are his wife so butthurt he doesn’t want to drop out and stick it out a little longer ?

She said that since all hell is breaking loose in the family, and he is sure to lose the race, she wanted him to stop. He did say that if ever she wasnt on board he would stop, but then took back the agreement. Plus, that was the finale, so having them have trouble is a segway for season 3 with him sleeping on the couch.
Personally , I can do without Deja, Kevins girlfriend, Kate and the whole political campaign which is a snoozefest.

reply

That’s fair . Yeah Kate is annoying

Okay, maybe this is just me-- but there is no way I would dump my husband out of our bed for something like this. The only thing to justify ejecting him our of the bedroom is for cheating. Randall is a good man. He has the integrity not to quit. What kind of an example would be be for his children if he quit?

I agree with you about Kevin's girlfriend and Kate (hate Kate). I happen to like Deja.

Weak storyline for them if thats where they are going with this.. They showcase the dad in Vietnam and his story there, but Kevin venturing there to fill in the gaps to the story? I dont buy that for a minute..Kevins character is way too self absorbed to make a journey like that, unless he did a complete turnaround and wants to seek enlightenment. So when Randall was dumped out of his bed for that it kinda ruined the momentum for me. But Ill tune in next year, so theres that. lol

I think you're missing the point about Kevin's character. He's always been self-absorbed and the show is about him breaking out of that.

After all, that's why he patched things up with Randall early on. He realized he has always been kind of an asshole to his brother and wants to make amends.

Appreciate the comment, except for the part that I am missing the point. Seems a bit unnecessary to say, and dosent give a nice vibe. Perhaps Kevin is breaking out of his mold, we shall see. Still , I didnt find it credible to jet off to Vietnam, with no clues to go on except a pendant necklace. Seeing that the Uncle is still alive at the end will give a nice storyline for next season though, and hopefully Kevins girlfriend wont be joining the cast.
Have a beautiful day.

Re: missing the point, I didn't intend it in a mean way. I was just saying that I don't think you fully picked up on the writers' intentions.

In any case, I don't think Kevin's current story line is inconsistent with his character arc in the show, but I will at least agree that it's not the most entertaining plot thread. I also am not particularly interested in the "girlfriend" aspect of the plot that is unfolding right now either.

Frankly, my guess is that the writers just weren't sure what to do with Kevin and this is what they came up with.

Thanks for clarifying...I appreciate it. I think next season will be Randall on the outs with his wife, Kevin finding his long lost uncle (who played Eddie on Im Dying Up Here on Showtime) and Kate and Toby having a baby, Randalls daughter dealing with her sexuality, and Deja going back with her mom (yet again).
