shadows

If im a Navy Seal I dont think I would want alot of attention. I would rather be more of a mystery than a bunch hollywood yahoos running around portraying Navy Seals. I don't think hollywood could ever know what it takes ,or the sacrifice to become an operator. The worst flick in the world portraying Navy Seals was Navy Seals with Charlie sheen, "cringefest"

Navy Seals was badass. When Sheen jumped off the bridge from the jeep into the river below? Badass.

So by making a mini series about Seal Team Six aka DEVGRU with no real Seals in it, isn't keeping in the shadows? I seriously doubt they will give away any Seal secrets in the making of this mini series.

Have you seen "Act of Valor"? I'm not a Seal or anything alike but I was impressed with (or simply enjoyed) the more procedural approach in this movie.

I'm sure they have advisors on the set that were real SEALS ya moron. They usually do for any show or movie on the subject. Not that I like this show. But what you said is just dam STUPID. So I guess if Hollywood actors can't know what it really means to be a SEAL, they can never make a movie or show on the subject, right?? MORON! Think before you speak. Just a little advice.....dummy. ;-)

To all you guys who are nailing the op...let me tell you not everyone is hooyah about it. Are you a *beep* special operations specialist, have you been deployed 6 times, cost 2 marriges, can't hold down a decent job due to medical issues, take 5 different medications so you don't eat a bullet, sleep 2 hours a night cause you wake up on the wire? Leave the guy alone cause he does make a point....not everyone has the same opinion on our Naval special warfare operators and it's time to find something else to go *beep* on. Btw Act of Valor is highly respected and Bandito boys out of Coronado are still catching *beep* for being selfies on camera.

...and yeah you heard it from someone
We'd rather see anchorman or grownups, that's some good *beep*

Btw theres always "advisors" on set, and their job is to show actors how to move as a fireteam, proper entry into a building ,how to hold an M4, lingo, shooting techniques etc...
They aren't acting coaches (and just so you know, an SO2 active duty operator makes peanuts compared to being an advisor onset) he's laughing all the way to the bank. How that for insight?

I understand your point in what SEALs might want. The less people know, the safer they remain.

That said...the more people stay secretive and in the shadows, the more it makes others want to know more about those that stay secretive and in the shadows. It's human nature.

Meaning, that people are going to write about them, talk about them, and yes, makes shows about them. If that happens, I would think that Seals would want it to be as honest as possible, or as honest as they can allow it.

I do agree, that even with what we see (on this show and other media), it's nothing to what these men endure, in their professional and private lives, because of that decision. Many of us will never comprehend the true sacrifice they have made to follow this path, or the consequences they've suffered.
