Yeah, give it a pass. Not funny, sloppily written, poorly acted. I'm sincerely disappointed.

shareI can't believe Edmund wrote this, this is not the Tick. The Tick us funny, this was dark and weird. I did laugh once. And Author, what was that? You could be Author, normal person wanting to be a hero, this Author is mental, don't want to be him, and did I mention that this show was NOT funny. I pass.
shareI grew up with the animated series. I loved the absurd slapstick. The 2001 series took a little time to grow on me but I loved it almost as much as the animated series; I liked how they took the comedy of the animated series but added in more trivial obstacles for them to overcome like going to the DMV. The every day life of a superhero - the tick in particular - was hilarious.
I was initially immediately disappointed in this. But we still have those other 2 series we can go back and watch. And I'm excited for a different take on the same characters. I just wish I knew that's what this was so I wasn't so excited for a 2001 reboot.
There were nods to the other two series. I'm sure we'll get more if the series gets picked up. So we get some old with the new. As long as I get more Tick I'm happy.
I think i heard Patrick Warburton screaming in an ambulance at the beginning of the episode.
