My revised verdict on the Tick 2016

Guys.

I just watched all episodes of TickTAS, Tick2001, and Tick2016 back-to-back.

I have to say, that with my latest watching, I find Tick2016 to be better than Tick2001. It has better pacing (less "lulling"), a more engaging story and better production values.

In Tick2001, you could really tell they were skimping a lot on action since their budget probably wouldn't allow for it. The Pilot is the only episode that has Tick actually running and jumping, and even then it looked really hokey.

The voice I think is better then Patrick's. In retrospect I find it sounds closer to Joe in Family Guy than Tick. Peter sounds more like the animated Tick, and IMO better than him too.

I also think that 2016 Tick feels a bit more energetic. Tick2001 felt like he was kinda lazy (not saying he was supposed to be portrayed as lazy, but his body language felt that way to me - maybe he was constricted by the bulky suit). Does anyone agree witht tha´?

Something I don't remember about Tick2001 is that Patrick wore platform shoes to make him taller. It looked too cheap to support the idea that his suit is part of his body. The new suit looks more plastered on and more organic, which is better IMO.

One thing I didn't like with Tick2016 suit is that it seems the annenae move very spastically. In 2001, they were used to emote (like in the episode with the League, one antenna twitches each time he gets spanked), but it doesn't seem they represented his emotions here as they were flailing about all the time.

So far the only things that remain the same in the Tick is that he is dumb but has a good vocabulary, he thinks Arthur's apartment is a superhero HQ and there's a villain named The Terror. Oh and of course Arthur is short and has a sister called Dot. Funnily enough his sister has been radically different in every incarnation, and 2016 IMO is a hottie.

We're just gonna have to wait and see whether Tick will be famous in this incarnation too.

I also just noticed that Barry&Barry are producing this too, as well as Warburton. Having familiar names around the show's production hopefully won't hurt it!

I think it would be funny if we could get a Batman parody in this too, but it feels like this day and age is harder to get something like that thru, so I don't think we'll see any.
