Not too shabby!

I didn't know what to expect when watching last night for first time. Nick was always the laid back and chill guy in GA, so It was weird seeing him host his own show. He actually did pretty decent job I think. I must say I really enjoyed the first episode. They did a lot o investigating and some of the evidence they caught was pretty chilling. That crawling entity towards the end, if real and not faked by them, then is really good capture. It was nice to see Amy and Adam as guests, but I feel they could have done or shown a little more investigating with them. So far the show seems pretty good and creepy, look forward to the rest of the season.

Did you have any difficulties seeing the crawling thing? I had to change profiles on the TV to see "Crawly" and even then it wasn't abundantly clear.

I think they could have done a better job in Post. But, it starts at the source and at times they would turn on the big camera light and other times it was like they were shooting using, not to be taken literally, the light from a candle. These are seasoned investigators, so there is no excuse not bringing more batteries and hotter LED lighting. I guess they blew the budget on 6K cameras.

I had troubles too seeing the blob. Think I seen something white though.

It's difficult to explain, especially since I already deleted the recording. Basically, when they would show the POV from Nick's camera, the light on Nick's camera seemed to light up the entire hallway. But, when they showed the POV from Rob's state of the art 6K HD infrared camera, the hallway wasn't nearly as bright.

It didn't help that in Post they put an erratic red arrow on the screen. And, considering that 6K has 6144x3160 resolution, which is 9.36 times more pixels than 1080p, they had room to stabilize the shot and down-sample to 1080p without likely hitting the edges of the 6K frame. And so-what if they did hit the edge, it would have made it easier to see "Crawly" and at the end of the day, that's what matters most. 

It would appear that Rob's cutting edge 6K camera needs a lot more light to do the same thing Nick's camera does and that opens up the possibility that "Crawly" might have been an artifact of Rob's camera.

I watched the second episode and the 6K camera had the same problem with low light. They would do well to keep the 6K camera for day shots and during the investigation have Rob use one of their other cameras.

Now that I think about it, this is what Ghost Adventures does. They use the big cameras for all the day shots and switch to handheld cameras during the investigation.
