Black Monk House Halloween Special

The manipulated plot-line of the Black Monk House Halloween show was obvious, it was created with all the elements of storytelling: conflict, climax, and resolution:

Throughout the investigation, everyone keeps mentioning that Nick's being haunted at home by a demon that followed him home, Katrina states ominously that "Sometimes I think Nick opens himself up too much." Then toward the end of their stay, both of them get attacked, doors start opening/closing, and the piece de resistance, a figure is captured moving through the house. lol. Finally, while reviewing footage back at home Nick hears a loud noise which brings about the climax to the show: Nick going off the rails and returning to the Hinman house in the dead of night. Katrina races to meet him there, and she finds him alone in a room ranting and raving and having a meltdown. And then the resolution to the story, Katrina tells Nick that he needs to accept being haunted because it's simply the nature of what they do. Nick understands that she's right and accepts his fate, and they go off into the sunset to fight another paranormal battle, tying the whole story up in a little box with a bow.

The whole things is completely manufactured IMO.
Dr. Barry Taff, very well respected parapsychologist, states over and over in the articles on his website and in his book that all of these paranormal shows are fake, and I tend to believe him. It's 'for entertainment only.'

At least you saw that. I could not for the life of me figure out how they were suppose to "Get ride of Nick's Demon". All they seemed to do was follow a whiney Nick around and bore us to death.
No cleaning, no rituals, no priest. They didn't do anything to expel Nicks problem.

One thing I will say is that the owner of the house (who is also the director or writer of the movie that they kept playing scenes from) has a pan on the Ouija boards and exorcisms in the house but at the same time I do wonder if Nick just ran off to the house at the end how did he have his microphone on?

I watched the Black Monk House episode last night On Demand and I could have done without the drama of Nick and his demona, pun intended, although I enjoyed it over all.

Yes, I def agree with you that it's practically scripted. He did another show with a town's name in it (too lazy to look it up), that was extremely scripted. I really hated it, though his co-hunter was an even bigger baby that he is. Not Katrina. Some very, very whiny "sensitive" actress.

Even the last several Ghost Adventures with Zak and over-the-top Aaron screaming over "bumps in the night", has been reminding me of professional wrestling.

"HEY, DEMON! KATRINA CHALLENGES YOU TO A CAGE MATCH, NEXT JANUARY 15TH! AT THE CENTRUM! AND IF YOU DON'T SHOW UP, YOU FORFIT YOUR TV CHAMPIONSHIP BELT! YOU'RE LUCKY I'M NOT CALLING YOU OUT, UH-HUH! BOP-SHEBOP!"
