The crawling man in the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum episode

Anyone else saw the crawling man in the Evidence Revealed Special? That was creepy. But most likely fake.

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

Back when the Season 1 premiere was on in March, I watched it over and over in HD and could never decide if it was real or just a person in a white morphsuit. The thing that casts the most doubt (and maybe I'm being overly critical) is that Nick did not turn around and instantly film down that corridor with his own camera once he picked it up, he filmed Rob for several seconds when it was obvious which direction it was in. The enhanced footage on the special did nothing to make me feel it was anymore real. It is very creepy & I wish I could 100% believe in it. There's some good episodes & captures on the show, they are legitimately hunting in haunting building and bound to get some real stuff, but both Season premieres had stuff that I found dubious and probably just there to hook in viewers.

As someone who doesn't "believe" in ghosts (I wish we used a better term, because belief shouldn't enter into the equation when it comes to this stuff), that clip did leave me a little unnerved. If it wasn't full-blown fakery, then it might have been a quadruped animal whose silhouette was distorted by shadows or digital video artifacting.

It is kinda freaky though. Years of watching horror movies gives us the ability to fill in the blanks with something like that, and it's easy to imagine some kind of slender humanoid writhing across the hallway, or crawling on all fours.

I can see why the producers used that episode for the pilot, because once the image clicks into place in your head and you recognize the shape, it's pretty scary to imagine.
