Not Great - SPOILER

This isn't a bad film, but it's nothing special. It's a pretty predictable action film. The one big surprise, if you can even call it that, becomes painfully obvious about 30 minutes into the film, and you're left waiting for Stallone to reveal it and get it out of the way.

As color-by-numbers action films go, it's fine, but there's nothing clever or thought-provoking here.

Also, it isn't clear how strong or invulnerable Stallone is. At one point he's hit by a car, which knocks him out and leave him with countless broken bones. He wakes up and heals quickly, though he then needs cold water and ice cream to stay alive. Later he's shot about 200 times in the span of a minute, and doesn't flinch, and repeated blows to the head from the magic sledgehammer don't seem to harm him much. Why was the car able to do so much damage?

The movie is full of inconsistencies like that, down to the end in a flaming warehouse that refuses to collapse, and apparently contains no smoke.

Worth watching if you want mindless entertainment.

Its nothing thought-provoking about 99.9% of Superhero movie and a most of it could qualify as mindless entertainment. Most of the MCU movies are not great either.

There's a massive divide between Samaritan and even the worst of the MCU films, and most of the MCU films are incredibly thought-provoking, original films. Don't lump all films of a genre together.

I would rather re-watch Samaritan than re-watch Thor: The Dark World or Ant-Man (the latter of which I tried twice to watch and never could finish it either time).

I'm not arguing that Samaritan is great. It's not. But I did find it more entertaining than some of the MCU films and I also really appreciated its throw-back 90s feel.

This was crap, Stallone should not do these types of characters. The bad guy was even worse, he suddenly believes he is invincible for no reason.

This is worse than Wonder Woman 84
