Hooray for intragender sports!

I'm all for women and men competing against each other in sports. Let the best male national soccer teams compete against against the best female national soccr teams at the next WCand see who comes out on top.

If Serena Williams wants to be considered the best tennis player of all times, let her compete on the ATP tour against Federer, Murray, Djokovic and all the other men.

How about intragender track and field events? I'd like to see the fastest women compete against the fastest men at 100 metres. Lol, that would be a show.

The Celeveland Cavaliers playing against whoever is the best WNBA team.

Now, of course, all this would guarantee, that women would never again win anything in any sports based on size, power, speed and pure muscle mass, but at least it would be fun watching :-)

serena and venus played a guy ranked 200th back to back and they lost 6:1 and 6:2

now they got destroyed by someone ranked just outside the 200th spot, could you imagine them against federer murary djokovic or nadal? its just a joke

I know that story. The Williams sisters got awfully quiet about challenging male players after this practice match lol. I don't even mind that much about the premise of the story, but why not pick a relatively tall and strong woman who at least looks the part? Why pick a model type?

The woman in Pitch is supposed to be unique in her abilities. Her father was shocked by how she threw the ball as a young child. The show isn't implying women in general could play pros, but this one woman can. Why be so threatened by a TV show? Lighten up!

BTW, Billie Jean King did beat Bobby Riggs in tennis. It was an historic "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match.

Then pick an actress who looks the part. She's 5'8" and 130 lbs. That's ridiculous, like an actor who's 6'2" 200 lbs, who's supposed to be a center in the NBA on a tv show about basketball.

Billie Jean King was in her prime and played against a guy in his fifties, who'd retired from tennis decades before. She did not play against one of her male contemporaries at the time and for good reason. She would have been creamed by the best male players like Jimmy Connors at the time.

It really is interesting to see people come unglued at the mere prospect that a woman in a drama is just too much for them to contemplate.

A woman at the center of a drama is not a problem, a pretty model type sold to the tv audience as a badass athlete who throws out major league batters with one good pitch IS a problem.

the only way she threw that ball like that at that age as a child is if she is an escaped/secret government experiment...... and this is not sexist even a male child her age wouldnt have been able to throw it that far!

It's just a TV show!
And, in my opinion, a pretty good one at that.
Of course women will never be able to compete with men in any real sport in real life. Since this is not real life, lighten up and see it as a fantasy show, if you want. ;)
