What I don't get.

This woman is set to become the first woman to pitch in the majors, has been in San Diego's farm system for years, and yet the GM of the freaking team doesn't meet her until the day she makes her major league debut. How incredibly unrealistic is that? He would have met her years ago the day the franchise signed her to a minor league deal. It would have been all over the news and no franchise would give up that p.r. opportunity.

She was in the minors for 6 years. He may not be the GM that signed her.

Yes, but he was the GM bringing her up to the majors. I'm sorry it's just incredibly unrealistic that he hadn't met her before that day to me. This wasn't just some guy, this was the first woman to be brought up to major leagues. And the fact they thought it was something they felt was worth doing tells me she was doing so well it was well worth the huge risk. As in she most have been pitching so well the entire baseball world was taking note and that means the talking heads on channels like ESPN would have been talking about her and trying to talk to her before her call up. It wouldn't be happening if she was in the minors getting shelled. All of this just means to me that the Padre's GM most certainly would have had face to face interaction with her long before this day.

Well girls in the minors isnt uncommon as you may think. In the last 6 years there has been at least 5-7 female ball players in the minors

How is this relevant to anything I posted?

Maybe they were planting the seeds for an amnesia angle.

I hate webinars. They never provide any snacks.

Relievers are relievers for a reason. Long relievers max 3 innings if pitcher get shelled. Then you got those typical mid relievers that come in for 1.2 innings. Closers are so fragile that managers cringe bringing them out for a 4 out save. Sometimes just got out for a simple 2 out save.

Usually teams have their top 1-2 guys on their triple A team for spot starts then they just go back down.
