Okay when she bombs in her debut game her dad is there and, after the game takes out on the field and has her throw pitches....RIGHT. So how is it in the next episode her brother is seen in a flash back scene when she's in the minors talking about he's had to look out for her since dad died. WHAT....did I miss something???

shareThe end of the pilot episode showed that the night after she was approached by the Padres scout, her father was killed in a car wreck. She was imagining him the entire time to encourage herself to continue working hard and rebound from her poor performance in her debut.
Hopefully, they will not go back to the imaginary dead dad gimmick. The second episode with her brother was showing how the brother took over for their dad in acting as Ginny's agent after their dad's death until a professional agent came in who knew much more about contracts and self-promotion.
Some people believe that what you leave after your death is the memories you've created interacting with other people. If you've lost someone very close and influential to you, you might have the same reaction.

shareHer dad has been dead the whole time since the first episode. Her interaction with him are through her visions and imagination that he's still alive and guiding her each step of the way as he did when her dad was alive.
That revelation of his death from the car crash threw everyone for a loop. The audience was not expecting that at all.
