I wonder if ginny was secretly upset when amelia told her about the relationship with mike.

Yes, very upset. Seems like in her mind that another friendship has become taboo, just like her friendship with the player who's dad killed her dad, now her friendship with her catcher has to into play, by putting her in the middle between him, his friendship and her agent.

I thought she was upset bc of the deception. I wouldn't want to see her get with him- I prefer their professional relationship with him as her mentor.
