are they foreshadowing Ginny-Mike romance?

Because honestly that would be gross.

reply

I hope not. I feel like he's supposed to be a father figure to her. But they always ruin good shows with romance and babies, so we'll see.

reply

I feel they were setting up that romance from the beginning or at least the second episode. I never got that he was supposed to be a father figure for her (he's not that much older than her) plus that seems to go to the captain/skip. I thought at first maybe a brotherly thing but that seems to be Blip's job. The looks that Mike has been giving her since almost the beginning have always felt romantic to me and tonight's episode with the preview for the next show seems to prove it. With that being said, I am not objected to it, I think there is some chemistry there and look forward to seeing it play out over the series.

^I second all of this. They could be great together- if written properly.

reply

Oh my god, I was right! Eww, eww, eww!

reply

I agree with you! I hope that these 2 are given a chance. I like them together.

"Romance" is probably too strong a word...let's assume they kiss in the season finale. IF the show gets renewed for another season, it's likely that the first episode will have a scene where one or both of them admit it was a mistake and they are better off as friends/teammates. If they go beyond kissing, that's just bad writing

Of course this is 100% speculation on my part.

reply

Why do you think that it's bad writing? You don't want them together? I saw this coming when they were exercising together a few weeks ago. Also like somebody said above, the way that he's been looking at her lately it's like he's showing interest.

reply

It's bad writing when no matter how poorly matched the characters, the writers still couple them up. As if they have no ideas whatsoever on how else to develop the story.

And once again, why even break Mike up with Amelia? What was the point of that? He realized then that he was still in love with his ex-wife, but now he suddenly isn't anymore?

reply

Yes the writers kinda hinted that, a lot, actually. I seriously don't know why, except that they are two main characters....why not keep them as a mentorship instead...why everything should lead to romance ? Mike was supposed to be still in love with his ex, then he started casually something with Amelia, and right after that Ginny ? ....

And Ginny said she would not date anyone from the team ...
They made Mike jealous when seeing Ginny with Livan ?...:
=> more original ideas ?......

reply

Yeah, I was hoping they were not going there. Thought it was strictly big brother/siter but the shippers went for it

reply

What was even the need to break up Mike and Amelia to set these two up? As if we are supposed to believe they are meant to be?

I think it's time to cut my losses with this show.

Since the pilot.

Clark's destiny = Superman, LL &LL.

I'm totally with you on this. I know they've been setting it up and leaving hints here and there but I really think they've grown into a very platonic relationship. I don't think the writers intended for them to be platonic, but it's just how the characters developed out of the writers control.

Kind of like how most people hated the HIMYM ending. The writers decided the ending before the show started, but didn't take into consideration how sometimes the story just starts creating its own fate. People were completely uninterested in Ted and Robin being endgame.

In contrast, Dawson's Creek's writers always intended for Joey and Dawson to be together in the end, but made the (right) call by changing it last minute to Joey and Pacey.

Well, the Pitch writers are definitely pulling a HIMYM getting these two together.
