So Unrealistic

Sorry this show is so *beep* stupid and not just because it looks terribly acted and written. A woman would never make the MLB as a pitcher it's just not scientifically possible. No woman has ever come close to throwing hard enough to be compared with MLB pitchers. The feminists will say i'm sexist but it's just a scientific fact. If you want to say she could make it as an infielder or outfielder that's more believable, but there is no chance a woman would ever be a pitcher in the MLB.

I would never accuse you of being sexist. But you definitely are stupid and narrow-minded.

Typical libtard stuck in your feelings refusing to see the facts the OP is right it wont happen.I think if it were possible it would happened already and it hasn't and theres a good reason for it this show is a ego stroke to the feminists .Who are all losers and they don't care about any sports or anything but their half baked agenda and only have a means to push that agenda into every facet of normal society .

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

you know what's unrealistic?

I guess the woman who gave birth to you is definitely a loser...big *beep* time! Along with any other female in your life simply because they're related to your dumbass.

I feel sorry for them.

Middle Age White Dude here...YES, we have more Testosterone, and NO, Chicks probably can't throw over 90mph. But-THIS is about a Screwball Hurler. Trick Pitches are Different. Making her a knuckleballer would have been even BETTER.

I haven't watched the show yet-but Intend to. Let's FACE it...Men's sports are so Lucrative because we beat on our hairy chests and say that WE (as a Gender-lol) can do the Slam Dunks, throw the Bombs, and knock a Running Back into tomorrow as Middle Linebacker. But I believe there are Some physical sports where Women can Excel. There was even a Girl Offensive Tackle (Daughter of a famous NFLer) who was the Terror of her High School Gridiron. Holly Mangold-I so believe.

reply

Just to be clear, she played in some games as an offensive lineman. She's the little sister of Nick Mangold and she was definitely not a "terror" let alone a starter on the team. She played garbage time at the end of games. The OP stands. Women cannot compete with men in competitive sports, period.

Good to see a man making sense about the whole "debate". Thanks for the honesty, it's refreshing on this board;

Wow, I'm surprised nobody has brought this up before.

reply

Yeah, I was saying that to Greg Maddux only the other day. 84....whew! Smokin'!

reply

yeah, as I said in another thread about Maddux - low 80's pitcher but deadly accurate. That's all you need. A woman could make it in MLB as a pitcher but would have to be "Maddux good" - a phenom.

reply

You know that the show specifically states that she can't throw as hard as the men but she has a trick pitch that works against the batters. I agree though, it would have made way more sense to make her like a first baseman. Doesnt have to throw as far and any woman should be able to play it as well as any man.

Since you're obviously never bothered to watch the show, it deals with all those issues. But since you're too close-minded and sexist to watch it, never mend. Its a good show, despite your silly, immature attitude toward it.

reply

Not really because then she would have to bat and no team would take her since she wouldn't be able to get on base.
She might be able to advance runners by bunting, but if no one is on base, what then?
She would be lucky if she even got one base hit.

Let me know if I'm on your ignore list.
Thanx!

But...Coors Beer...not exactly a Bastion of Marxist thought-sponsored a Female Minor League Team that played Men's teams. They didn't do all that Great...but they did WIN about 1/3 of their Games. And-way back in the Day-there was a Female pitcher who hurled against the Yankees "Murderer's Row"...you Know...Ruth, Gehrig, THOSE Guys. She struck out three in a row in an exhibition game. It Could have been Tongue-in-Cheek...but I don't Think so.

reply

OP is right, though. Totally unrealistic and not believable, at all. I'll stick to the realism of shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, thank you very much.

In all seriousness, TV is about escapism, not portrayals of real-life, and whether a thing could or could not happen. Heck, even real-life stories are "embellished" to make then more palatable for TV.

Just accept the fact that in this particular fantasy world, a female pitcher (who is hardly portrayed as any kind of ace, btw) exists. If that's a premise you can get behind, great. If not, there's other shows with equally outlandish premises out there.

Scientists disagree.
