Does Mike like Ginny?

I hope they don't go that route because he's more of a big brother or uncle to her. It would be really weird and awkward to watch. When he was dating Ginnys agent, it felt like they were the parents looking after Ginny. We shall see what happens next.

If this happens they'll lose me as a viewer. I swear, just once I'd like to see a show in which the male and female leads don't fall for each other. Ginny and Mike don't even seem like it should be a romantic match. He's like her big brother. The way American cinema seems to think this is absolutely necessary in every show is beyond me.

reply

Exactly. They always make the lead characters fall for each other.

I hate to break it to you, but the promo for finale all but confirmed a romance between them. Even the last episode all but confirmed it. Mike chewing that other player out ("YOU DO NOT HAVE FEELINGS!") for having a thing for Ginny? That was allegorical- Mike was, in reality, trying to convince himself that he didn't have those feelings. And then the last scene where Mike briefly smiles when Ginny starts humming, only to go deadpan a few seconds later and leave the workout room to tell Oscar he wants to be traded to Chicago? That was Mike going "oh sh!t" after realizing how he feels and deciding to get the hell out of dodge so he doesn't have to deal with it.

They kiss in the preview...

reply

No they don't. Their faces get close, but we don't actually see them kiss.

reply

The intent is completely there from both of them...

reply

Nooooo whyyyy!!!! Watching that scene was soooo weird.

reply

Intent is irrelevant. It wouldn't be the first time a tv couple has come close to kissing, but one or both parties backed out at the last second or something interrupted them. At this point it's become a Hollywood cliché. Not saying that's what'll happen here, but it's a definite possibility.

reply

Yep, it will be way too weird. I appreciate their bonds, but it's not a romantic one, I really hope they won't do that just because they are the two main characters...but they pretty much hinted that a bit...

reply

I think it's pretty obvious that he likes her.

They've been romantic since the first episode. It's why Amelia wanted to keep their relationship secret. She told Mike that Ginny had a poster of him growing up. He clearly reacted to it. It's why Ginny got jealous when she discovered the relationship.

Nothing about their arc has been brother/sister. That's Blip and Ginny. The show has consistently made the point that they have feelings for each other.

reply

Still, there's all sorts of problems that could come out of a relationship like that...have you ever had a workplace romance?

lol shippers always have a way of distorting facts to justify their fantasies. Your posts reeks of bias, friend.

She did make an unhappy face in that scene, though

reply

Yep. Maybe in season 2 they'll get together at some point.

WTF were you watching? Sounds like you're writing bad fanfic instead of paying attention. They've already been confirming that he has real feelings for Ginny and she has them for him.

Can't stand when fans try to write for a show. You don't have a clue what anyone wants to watch outside of your masturbatory fantasies.

And it's funny I only see these dumb threads pop up when there's a black woman in the equation. So tiresome.
