Surprise!
I marked this show in my "Watchlist" since it was first advertised but never had enough interest to view it until today. Primary reason: I'm tired of reading subtitles and wanted to watch something less complex. 2nd reason: There isn't a new episode of Hell's Kitchen OnDemand yet and this one had the tag "watch from the beginning" under it. lol
I'm about 3/4 through the first episode and very pleased thus far. Here's why:
The cast.
Love watching Michael Beach playing a strong father figure instead of his usual scumbag husband roles.
Glad to see Mo McRae as a charming and wise character instead of a sly gang leader. He was never really convincing to me as a thug drug dealer or gun runner -- too smart and innocent looking.
The Shocker: I didn't recognize Mark-Paul Gosselaar until 30 minutes in! His typical role is a wisecrack. During the second game when he spoke to the pitcher at the mound, he wisecracked. I recognized his voice first. Then I looked harder. Spoiler alert! Saw his name in the titles and I was looking for him. But admittedly, I expected him to be a rival agent or manager to Ali Larter's character. It was hard to see him under that fat bearded face and dark hair.
Additionally and lastly, who doesn't enjoy watching such beautiful actors, Kylie Bunbury and Mark Consuelos.
Some have such a low esteem they create reasons to hate everyone else.
