1. Mike Lawson is supposed to be 36 and Ginny Baker is supposed to be 23. Both Mark-Paul G. and Kylie Bunbury are actually older then than the characters they're playing.
2. There really isn't an age limit for a baseball player. However, a catcher has a shorter shelf life than most others because of the continual crouching and home plate collisions. That's why they teach them other positions. The first to do it was the Yankees with Yogi Berra. They taught him to play the outfield. Andy Van Slyke, Dale Murphy, Brian Downing and Bryce Harper were all catchers when they began their baseball careers. But all 4 have been converted into All Star outfielders. It also what they should do with Mike Lawson - except he plays first. He could play there - except when Ginny pitches. Lots of pitchers have had personal catchers, Steve Carlton had Tim McCarver and Jack Morris had bruce Kim to name a couple.
3. If Mike retires, he could become the new manager, a first base coach, a hitting coach or better yet - Ginny's pitching coach. Or maybe do play by play for the Padres.
4. The physical problems Mike has comes with 15 years of catching. The knees go first, then the back. Looking at the character of Mike Lawson, I don't think he wants to have surgery (especially during the season) because he's afraid Levan Durate will take over his catching job permanently. That's why moving him to first base and only having him catch Ginny or on Levan's off day, would fit right in to his character and prolong his career. I'm not sure how long his plan is. Remember he called it "The 3 Phases Of The Mike Lawson Experience".
5. Evelyn dropped out of college because she married Blip, started following him around the country and had twins.
6. I don't want to see Mike with Amelia. I like the triangle component of Mike, Ginny and Mike's ex wife, Rachel who he still truly loves. Add to that, that Rachel knows he'll be spending lots of time with Ginny and that Rachel also really likes and admires Ginny and a solid triangle could be created there.
7. Amelia's fertility problems were just barely touched on . It's a story arc that needs to be fleshed out. As hard as she was trying to have a baby with her husband that left her, I'd think she'd still want to try to have a child.
There's other questions unanswered too. Like Mike's past. We know his little league coach is his father. But that's all we know. Did Mike's mother have an affair with him? Did he ask her to get married, but she refused? He also has the half brother, sister, the nephew that his dad was pitching to and probably a step-mother. But as of yet, we don't know a thing about the people he was watching from afar in his SUV.
Another is Ginny's friend, whose drunken father killed hers. What happened to him. It seems as close as they were that he'd want to be right there by her side in San Diego.
A third question is Trevor, the person Ginny sent the nude selfies to. Is he just going to be in those two episodes? They could do something really interesting with his character too. The San Diego Padres don't know who was hacked. Suppose Livan Durate does become starting catcher and Mike moves to first and only catches Ginny. The Padres would then need a good back up catcher. Oscar could make a trade with St. Louis for Trevor, NEVER knowing about his past with Ginny. There's lots of possibilities for stories there if they did go in that direction.
And then there's manager, Al Loungo. He's got three daughters and a son. But so far, all we've seen is one daughter. Also, Joe Lauria was wonderful with Wendy Malick and I'd love to see her return as his love interest.
The clubhouse is where the sit and play cards, listen to music, watch television, play video games, work out and shower before and after games.
I hope this helps.
