Canceled?

Anyone know whether this is getting a season 2 or not?

There has not been any news sadly.

TV Line (Michael Ausiello) has the show on his renewal score card as "a safe bet" for renewal. He's not always right, but does have a lot of insider information. I'm hoping on this one he's right!

Fox has too much invested in Pitch's cross-promotion not to bring it back this spring. The idea was to use the show to cross promote their Saturday baseball broadcasts. Major League Baseball signed on so real teams, uniforms stadiums and broadcasters could be used. There's also the Major League Baseball Network, the horrid Fox Sports Network and even ESPN involved. They used ESPN Magazine's Body Shaping Issue to head off Ginny's nude selfies. And last but not least there's also the San Diego Padres. They've been also rans with little or no interest outside San Diego, since Steve Garvey played for them. But now the fictional Ginny Baker, Mike Lawson and Blip Sanders have created an audience/fan base for the real San Diego Padres.

There's just too much cross-promotion at work here for Fox to let this wonderful series end after 10 episodes. And if they did, Pitch could still find a home on the Major League Baseball Network. It's a perfect fit.

I like your logic!

Some have such a low esteem they create reasons to hate everyone else.

Thank you. The perfect scenario would be to re-run the first 10 episodes in mid May. And then when they run out, new episodes should begin. Right now is when they should be filming too. All the baseball stadiums are vacant and they can use any of them in California. They could also used the stadium where the Marlins play. If they wait too much longer, all the teams will be using them and they'd have to film the show around regular major league games. That could make the shooting schedule a real headache.

I really hope so! But it's FOX, and they are a fickle beast. Shows that should last don't, and the ones that should be cancelled last forever. I've yet to figure out their logic

That's also why the Major League Baseball Network is an extremely viable option. Sundays and Thursday's are travel days in baseball and there's normally four games or less played on both days It's also why they re-run old baseball movies a lot of the time on those two days. And why Pitch would be a perfect fit in their line up - if FAWX does something stupid.

They should give it more time but never trust FOX
