Ending is confusing

I get Mikey is actually an "evil mastermind" but who actually killed Mrs. Akimoto? Obviously either the mother or Mikey poisoned her to the point to make her believe there was a ghost after her but Jeanne said she would never kill people and that Mikey "took it too far". What exactly did he "take too far"? From what I saw all he did was write the letters and wear the bird costume when she was the one who actually put the poison into the pastries. Or was it actually Mikey doing that? And if she was so against that, why did she keep delivering the cupcakes etc. to people knowing they were poisoned?

Also, I think maybe Mikey wasn't all that smart. His mother would have killed him at the end if it weren't for Noah and Emma.

In the end, did Mikey say he was going to kill Noah and Emma by burning down the house?

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a fṷck!

I watched this last night on NF. It was pretty good, but I had the same questions as you. Also, Mikie was eating said cupcakes, didn't he know they were poisoned? I knew he wasn't really disabled due to the poor acting. The guy was annoying as F.

Who the *beep* is Mrs. Akimoto? That Asian woman from the beginning?

It was obvious that Jeanne set up the traps while Mikey finished off the prey.

The movie made my previous statement transparent as can be.

A bright light can hollow the deepest of nothingness.

This is a Norman and Norma type story. Crazy mom, crazier son, crazy alike.

Mikey was the trap game, Jeanne was the executor. Jeanne tried to get the house resold to protect Emma and Noah but they refused to relocate.

So in revelation, all along Jeanne wasn't a saint but she was scared of what her son was doing and how far they went with killing people that she started poisoning her own son.

Also yes, Mikey does reveal that while living with his new caregivers that he intends to kill Emma and Noah, both not enlightened to his true identity, by making it look like an accidental fire.
