It's cheesy camp, but it's good cheese. Anyway, I don't know what people are expecting from a Roger Corman Picture...
people expect too much, corman is not lucas, speilberg or tarantino. Everyone have their own method and I like this movie!

I think that while the concept of Death Race is great, the execution of a movie with a bunch of cars killing people is harder. Thats why im impressed with the approach they took for DR2050. Its low budget and cheezy but really strives to create an over-the-top world of extreme/bizarre/fun characters and action. It also amps up the satire and politics angle. Its well paced and well made. A solid fun throwback flick.
