Who cares if there is a laugh track ?

reply

I do... The show premise intrigued me, but after the 50th fake laugh during the cold open (4 minutes) I can't even continue. Some people see past it, but I can't stand it.

When I was younger (Friends era) I didn't really mind it since EVERYONE was doing it but now it comes across as desperate and kinda insulting...what's worse is that it underlines some of the jokes that ARE NOT funny

Hopefully Joel McCale will put some character into the show. If not at least he gets paid. Win win.

I loved him in Community hopefully he gets another show that's better than this crap

I'm triggered. Part of my identity involves indulging in the cozy safety of a traditional sitcom. You don't know my personal experience and why I need to veg out in front of a multi-camera sitcom.

It's the first ep. It needs a chance to find its footing. Not every show comes on like gangbusters out of the gate.

Millennials deserve most of the jokes they got if you ask me. My college aged daughter sometimes texts me from upstairs because she's too lazy to call down to me.

I agree, but some of the jokes are not even funny; it's like they're trying TOO hard...

Yep, there's an obvious desperation to sell the lines because they know it's not very good.

My Baby Boomer husband does the same thing. Big deal.
