Pompous British accents at a Chicago-based outdoor magazine?

The story-line sounds like it was written by a grade-schooler. Too many nobodies in this show.

Get this crap off TV!

The owner of a magazine doesn't have to be an expert on what is in the magazine. He just has to have money to invest.

I agree about the writing, Blue...a real disappointment, so far. But it could be saved by better scripts. Some shows take time to find their stride.

As to "nobodies", the only real star McHale's Community had at its debut was Chevy Chase. The combination of very innovative writing and amazing cast chemistry made it into a cult classic. The lesser-known actors in Community bacame fan idols, and raised their stature via the series. But fine actors can't compensate for dull, cliched writing. The Great Indoors won't last long unless they acquire some better writing talent, IMO.
