To my suprise I am starting like to this

Anyone feel the same way? The promise of the show sounded horrible but the gags are on point and the characters are somehow likeable.

reply

I'm way past that point... I am genuinely starting to LOVE this show. The characters are really starting to click. I don't know if this will reach my love for Community... but I'm starting to get the feeling it's actually possible.

reply

I guess no other comedy show will ever reach the quality of Community.

reply

Unfortunately it will never be at Community's level. They had jokes that took years to hit the punchline. You can rewatch it now and catch tons of stuff that you missed the first time.

I've got hope for this show but they need to smooth it out quick, the networks just don't give shows enough time to come together. It's cute but it's a bit too stupid at times. I really like Joel McHale and Christopher Mintz-Plasse and I'm very glad They aren't playing Jack as just Jeff Winger 2.0.

reply

I'm liking it in spite of itself. They picked a great cast and great characters. Lose the laugh track and iterate half the jokes a bit further and it would be hilarious.

reply

Well maybe the quality will improve in time. The show is already renewed for a second season. 7.64 (million) average viewers. Not bad.

reply

It's okay, but I find the characters unrelateable. Also the premise seems a bit farfetched.

reply

I like it but it's toast based on its ratings. It's retaining under half of the 18-49 demographic from Big Bang Theory. Historically other series following BBT have done better than that and still been canceled. The test is this for CBS: would a BBT repeat in this timeslot get a higher rating than this sitcom? If the answer is yes then usually the show is canceled.

reply

I hate the BBT but I'm liking this show so far.

reply

I think they are likeable, too. I adore the bartender.

It's the characters that make the show work. I quite like the ensemble. Some of the episodes are far better than others. When they finally get the writing solid it should be a pretty great show. But everytime they fall back on the Millennial bashing it gets pretty embarrassing. I don't care for the bar setting. There's just been entirely too much of that set on television the last ten years. The problem is it's sort of a work place comedy show, but nobody actually has a job they do to give scenes structure and foundation for the comedy.
