More like this is LMS WITH humor. LMS is easily one of the worst current sitcoms

shareThey are both clearly designed to appeal to the underserved market for sitcoms about non-liberals. But there is a reason there are so few such shows. Its easy for liberal writers to write shows that make fun of liberals because they know their own. But liberal writers suck at making fun of conservatives because they don't know enough conservatives in real life. So they pull their punches for fear of being too mean, and thus the humor is usually tepid if not outright anodyne. LMS is marginally funnier than this show, but both are rather dull edged.
Still the King (2016) is better than either of them, but it isn't quite a sitcom.
I don't think they are anything alike and I think this show is much funnier. I am thinking of taking LMS off of my DVR recordings. Just not funny anymore to me.
