Two of the three kids need to go

The boy looks like he belongs on ABC's The Middle and both him and the younger daughter are dead weight.

I was thinking this tonight. The two youngest kids barely having speaking parts.

Not yet seen Epsiode 4, but the younger daughter must have said no more than 10 words in the first 3 episodes. Apparently she was supposed to have been suspended from school for anger issues (mentioned in the pilot), yet we have seen nothing from her.

I quite like the young lad. He seems quite funny, although he has been woefully underused.

Many have slated the support cast, but unless they are given something to work with, they will never be considered any good. Last week, Kevin was on screen for all but 90 seconds of the 22 minutes total screen time. They need to let others get more meaty parts, otherwise they will become over reliant on James and although he is quite funny, I don't think he is that good he can carry the entire show. Every show needs good support to play off.

Personally, I want to see more of Kendra and Chale and see what makes them tick.

Like the son on 2 1/2 Men...He was just basically used as scenery with one or two lines per show...yet he was raking in $300,000 per episode. Nice work if you can get it.

I agree. I don't think the two younger kids are necessary. I think the dynamic between the oldest daughter, her fiance, the friends, and the parents are enough.

reply

Yeah, they need to kill them off.

reply

I don't remember seeing the other daughter until tonights episode.

Both kids were on previous episodes, though for a very short amount of time.

I don't disagree.

But ...

Removing the two younger kids defeats the whole premise (and purpose) of the show.

It was supposed to be a "family show", really so as to prevent it from becoming The King of Queens Part 2.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why Hollywood always cast cutesy kids. Even if they don't contribute much to the plot, at least you can say "awww" or whatever.

These two other kids are so average in every sense, it's not funny (literally). They don't give them much to do, and when they do (the other daughter had a whole scene!), they don't leave an impression.
