The Show Is Beginning to Hit Its Stride

It's getting better and better.

It may never match the brilliance and hilarity of The King of Queens (the rest of the ensemble just does not compare to the ensemble of the former show), but Kevin James alone is worth it, because he's still Kevin James, and he brings the funny.

By the way, it was great to see Ray Romano again, and he was hilarious. Hopefully he becomes a recurring character.

Agree completely! Loved tonight's episode with Ray Romano - and the "man-bun!" I sure hope we see him again.

Still love the scenes with Chale and Kevin - hilarious!

But overall, Kevin James is just still so funny - and the rest of the cast is growing on me. I like the wife a lot more now. And the kid was pretty good too.

I love the show and I actually laugh while watching it. Not many shows keep me laughing from start to finish.

The ep with Ray was really good. A lot of the old charm came out of Kevin and the cast really seemed to gel. Which says to me that cast is missing a strong actor, the "Arthur" character, to foil against.

Just watched the 1st and 2nd episode.

First impression, which coalesced minutes into the 1st episode, which has (so far) remained unchanged, is it's fine. It's not great, but no where near the travesty so many are deriding it as. It's a fairly average sit-com.

James is fine/good (and I'm not a huge fan: I definitely do not like some of his movies for instance), the English boyfriend is good (and though the actor is 35! he plays 20ish fine), the wife is ok: some...not bad acting I'd say so much as "off timing" (and I don't think she's too pretty for Kevin either). The kids and Kevin's friends are (so far) standard fare: nothing great, but nothing annoying or dreadful. Maybe some potential.

Especially think the Kevin/Chale dynamic could play well.

If this gets better with the 4 episodes I have not watched yet, and continues to "find it's groove", it could certainly become a pretty good show.
