I tried to like this show, I really did. But it's just tired...tired formula, tired writing, tired jokes, tired acting..."phoned-it-in" performances. Placing it after Big Bang Theory only magnifies how weak this is. Sad!

It's truly awful. I never really liked Kevin James, I barely tolerated him in the King of Queens but he's just terrible in this. He's not the least bit funny and neither is the actress portraying his wife. Hopefully it will be canceled very soon.

The jury is still out for me. I want to like it, but I don't want to feel forced to like it.

What I don't get is why people want it cancelled. If you don't like it, just watch something else. Or watch nothing at that time and do something different. What does it matter to you if it airs or not, when there are countless alternative things you could be doing.

One reason to wish cancellation would be to make room for something potentially better in its place.

Well it was renewed for a full season. So they weren't "funny".

I'm watching the pilot now and I really don't like the wife, I guess I can't see anyone else as Kevin's wife but Carrie. I'll give it a couple of episodes but it will never come close to King of Queens.

I really like Kevin James, I thought the first three episodes were watchable. certainly not as good as KoQ, but OK. But the 4th episode(Book Club)was just brutal. I turned it off to come here and compare notes.

I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since KoQ went off. KoQ went off with still high ratings. Maybe they could have picked up with the Heffernams 10 or 12 years down the road. Aside from Deacon, the rest of the cast isn't really doing anything. They could have explored the adolescent kid thing, a toddler running around causing havok, Doug trying to retire on disability from IPS, or is now running the place. Susan Sullivan(?) could be the nanny/Arthur walker.

Now I have Last man on Earth cued up. that's consistently watchable. It seems Impastor is the only sitcom I really look forward to these days.

LOL...Kevin Can Wait is not Friends or Seinfeld. I never cared for Friends, but I could tell it was well done. I don't like goose, but I can tell if it's prepared correctly. And I can tell this goose it cooked.

You see what I did there? I wrote a line that was funnier then anything you'll see on Kevin Can Wait. And I'm not a writer, nor do I play one on TV.
