How can I get to see the taping of the show?
shareThis site describes the process:

And here is the official CBS site:

For what it's worth:
I believe that this show tapes in Long Island. Not in Los Angeles.
It does film on Long Island. Bethpage, NY, which produced the "Sound of Music" starring Carrie Underwood 2 yrs ago, and "Grease" 1 yr ago.
The town where Kevin and his family live will be located in Massapequa.
I live in Massapequa, and I'm hoping they'll do some filming around town.
In the previews that bag of burgers he has in his hands.
All American Drive In, people come from all over to go to that place.
Interesting.
Isn't Massapequa the city (town) where the Clintons live?
No the Clinton's live in Westchester County, Chappaqua
Famous people from here are the Baldwin Brothers, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Guttenberg (North Massapequa), Joey Buttafucco, Dee Snider, the guy who the film "Born on the 4th of July was based, Ron Kovic.
Correct. I had confused the two towns. Thanks.
(They all sound alike.)

The show will be filming at Gold Coast Studios in Long Island, NY. According to their website ticket information should be available after July 25th.
I went to a taping for the second episode last Friday. It was an amazing experience to see a sitcom being filmed live. He also signed copies of the script for everyone in attendance and fed us a slice of pizza too.
shareWhat was the taping like?
shareIt was definitely cool to see a sitcom being filmed. It took about 3 hours and enjoyed the outtakes. Some of the set is hard to see as its on the side of the audience and depends where you sit. Also they fed us pizza so I can't complain. Kevin also signed the top part of scripts for anyone who wanted it.
On some level, isn't it repetitive and boring? Watching them say the same lines over and over, for repeated takes.
I imagine hearing the joke for the 12th time must kill the humor/comedy. No?
Yes it did kill the joke and I had wondered about that. At times they would change it up and say different things. Sometimes it was better than the original. But one line they would use over and over, the laughs did get lesser and lesser.
One outtake that was funny was the prop they needed for the scene was all of a sudden missing.
Yes, I would imagine watching the same joke over and over would get pretty boring pretty fast.
In fact, even on just the second telling of the same joke, I would imagine that it would lose all of its "comedic effect" or humor.
Really? You want to waste 2-3 hours of your valuable time?
shareLet me guess, you feel it's your own personal destiny to assassinate Kevin James?
Please be my guest.
