So Kevin's Wife Didn't Divorce Him When He Ditched The Family For Billy?
This show is so unrealistic. In reality Kevin would be living on the street for abandoning his family for a concert.

shareHave you seen his family? I'd abandon those losers, too! :)
The scene at the concert was painful to watch.
You probably grew up in some sheltered Midwest suburbs. You can't relate.
shareDid you see how close they were to the stage? It's Billy Joel. That's once in a lifetime.
shareAre you kidding me?? If my husband had a shot at seeing Billy Joel perform I'd be happy for him. And he would also if it were me. It's not like it was the only night the family could ever be together.
shareThat's the way I see it. Is anybody going to remember one night of playing games with the family? Ofcourse not. But I guarantee he'd look back fondly and remember the Billy Joel concert forever. That's the stuff memories are made of. Not that that's more important than family, but one game night with the family isn't the end of the world
shareWhat I found unrealistic was the wife not having a trace of bitter jealousy in her husband running around going to Billy Joel concerts without her.
"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"
Yeah but we never actually saw her reaction to that. It cut to them at the show and it ended that way. So it's probably safe to say he caught hell for it but it wasn't a marriage breaker.
shareShe may not be into Billy Joel's music. I don't even care for him and I'm a Long Islander.
Just as an example, my friend loves country music. His wife hates it. Every time he gets tickets to a country show, him and I go. His wife doesn't want to go (at all).
So, I didn't find it that unrealistic.
Well, it was more that he ditched the family right in the middle of them really connecting. But to be fair, they surprised him with the tickets. I just don't see any way to say no to that and just make it up to the family on another night.
shareNope, pretty realistic in my life. We are very supportive of one another wherein neither of us is threatened by the other having a life outside of our relationship. It's pretty great...I highly recommend it.
