Same Kevin as Everybody Loves Raymond

Before Kevin James started in King of Queens he was in Everybody Loves Raymond playing his namesake as one of Ray's friends. Later on when he made appearances in ELR he was playing Doug as a crossover from King of Queens. "Keivn" from ELR faded away.

Was "Kevin's" last name or occupation ever established in ELR? If not its fun to think about how this Kevin in "Kevin Can Wait" is one of the same.

If that was the case then Ray Romano would have played Ray Barrone when he slummed... er, guest starred, on this earlier in the season instead of playing the irritating Vic character.
