Cat...

If she was going to sacrifice herself to prevent letting Calvin back into the ship anyways, why didn't she take it further away?

Instead she brings him right up to the door, so it can grab on to the space station. Way to go!

And then right after that, the guy firing the thrusters doesn't realize their fuel levels are critically low until the alarms go off?

And then hes all "Whoops, I just put it into the wrong orbit"

These have to be the dumbest people ever allowed into space.

Her first intention was to save herself. But by the time she arrived at the airlock, she was drowning in toxic fluid, she realized she wouldn't be able to make it, so she tried to prevent the creature from getting in.

They had to fire the thrusters to keep the alien outside and suffocate it, so they tried that until fuel got low enough to trigger the alarms. And what's wrong with alarms going off? That's what alarms are for.

People are constantly whining about everything every character does in every movie ever, without elaborating on what they would have done.

It wouldn't have mattered. All the critter had to do was jump off her to reach the space station.
