The only movie that Ryan Reynolds opened well was DeadPool. And it was because of the character of DeadPool, not Reynolds. Jake G has never been able to open a film. Ferguson performed great in the Mission Impossible film, but the "Girl on the Train" film was DOA. I guess it's why Marvel passed on her for the "Captain Marvel" role. Too bad. But, maybe she can be cast as Catwoman if the JLA film performs well. They'll need to cast a Selina who not too young to have had some history with Ben Affleck's version of Batman. *IF* he continues to play Batman/Bruce.
I had no idea Rebecca Ferguson was up for Captain Marvel.
Sorry to break it to Ferguson, but if I were a studio, I'd even go for Brie Larson who seems to be gaining more and more popularity and now has an Oscar. Agreed about all three of the others having trouble opening films by themselves. Deadpool and the sequel will be the exception.
omg i can totally see emily blunt as cat women for some odd reason and "the girl on the train" box office failure should not even been blame on emily because emily gave a what i thought oscar worthy performance especially in the bathroom scene screaming at the mirror, they should blame it on whoever wrote it lol
