There are 50 million hispanics in the US, there are more than blacks and their numbers are increasing yet there are very few in these movie productions.
There is always a token black in the cast but no hispanics. why?
It is supposed to be an international space movie, so it really doesn't matter what the ethnic numbers are in the US as not all the members are American. I believe the black individual is supposed to be British, not American. I wouldn't know, but how many Hispanics are astronauts? Perhaps it could be an actual reflection of what the astronauts actually are in the real world instead of Hollywood being discriminatory.

My question, and I barely restrained myself from asking the OP, WHY WOULD YOU WANT A TOKEN ANYTHING? In fact, sometimes I'm crying out about these supposedly socially diverse things for the exact fact that they ARE token, or caricatures which I think is actually worse, myself.
I keep my expectations low -- then I can be pleasantly surprised.
