The most simple movie about everything
I always thought Addison Timlin was more than a pretty face, but didn't expect this. She was amazing. I'm not saying Oscar worthy, but right there. I think what works so well for me is the flashbacks show "regular people' and the current day is "real problems." Of course, they're magnified to make a 90 minute movie work, but it's not overdone. The scene at the end with Ally Sheedy and Timlin is the entire movie, but somehow it's not superfluous. It needed that scene, to show the fragile nature of family and life. Is it the best movie of 2016, as the New Yorker stated? Probably not, but it's definitely worthy of some high praise.
