shareI WATCHED IT YESTERDAY...IT'S BIG..LOUD..DUMB FUN...FAR FROM REALITY AND FAR FROM A GREAT MOVIE...ENDLESSLY ENTERTAINING THOUGH.
shareI haven't watched it yet and refuse to pay for it. I get that they were always a bit unrealistic. But it's gotten to the point where it's Fucking stupidly unrealistic. Sad. I used to be a huge fan of the series.
shareIt was always unrealistic.
The seemingly enduring falsehood that these were once grounded street racing films is bizarre.
In the first film there was some very questionable truck boosting going on - great stunts to watch but realistic? - followed by an almost 2 minute long quarter mile drag race at the end. Physically impossible.
In the second film, Brian drives his car off a pier and lands it on top of a boat - ON TOP OF A BOAT - that he has been chasing...
So I'm not sure where one would really draw the line and say it went OTT unrealistic. Basically they just continued down the same path they were on.
Re-read what I said. They have gotten increasingly sillier as they went along. There are different levels of Suspension of Disbelief.....FF has gone way beyond the point that anyone can attempt to reconcile it In their minds ..
shareI did read what you said. That's why I posed the hypothetical question of where it went over the top.
e.g. The 2 Fast 2 Furious boat jump:-

Are you buying that?
Or Fast & Furious (4) Dom times driving his Charger under a tumbling fuel tanker:-

How's you level of suspension of disbelief looking for that?
So yeah, driving their car into space might be a step up from that but it's pretty hard to argue these films were in any way grounded. Ever.
I actually did not mind the over the topness until movie 7 and before that the scene in ( I think movie 6) when Dom flew over the freeway after crashing his Daytona along the cement guard and catching Letty. It was that scene where I started to think....uh oh they are starting to go to far... π
I wish they would be more like the Mission Impossible films where they have one central big action scene and the rest smaller choreographed scene spread throughout. But with FF every scene is trying to outdo the next to ridiculous levels .....

It's weird they think that bringing back every dead character will somehow fix the franchise's bigger problems.
shareYeah this series has been off the rails for a while, but it's become so ridiculous it's hard to even find it entertaining.
shareGiselle never died though. She just fell off the wing of a moving jet on the runway, however Cipher saved her. Its not illogical at all
share"Giesel" Lmao π
Was that an intentional play on Gisele and Diesel? π
Some like to smoke "Giesel" but apparently the OP didn't refer to that one. π₯¬β
shareWhat the fuck are you talking about StinkFace? You have dyslexia??

JoWilli? Is that you?
I wasn't making fun of you. I thought it was intentional and if it wasn't, just a funny mix-up since it does combine Gisele and Diesel π
