First of all, RIP Luke Perry, a classy guy and gone too soon.

That said, I do wonder where the show will go now, and how Fred's story would've turned out had he not died. My guess is Fred will be killed off-screen by the Gargoyle King (honestly felt like at least one of the parents would die before the end of the season anyway), and since I can't see Molly Ringwald coming back full time, Archie will live with Jughead's family until he gets himself emancipated then lives in the house alone, and start to turn into his dad.

i have 3 ideas of what they should do with Luke Perry's character.

1: kill him off.

2: recast him.

3: write him out.

Those are generally the three options. I think it'll be the first, goes best with the the story. I can't see the character just leaving. And though the show's recast parts before, never one this big and I don't think they will in this case.

They will have Jason Priestley take over the role. I sure he can get time off at the drive-thru.

I think they are going to try and do without the dad....for as long as they can (milk shock). But ratings will decline. They're going to have to pull the show. It sucks that this happened but it's not going to last long term without him.
