No, this show is NOTHING like the comics - I grew up reading them. I tried to watch the pilot of this show and gave up 20 minutes into because these characters are nothing like I remember. But then my daughter (who is in her 20's and has never read them) convinced me to give it a second chance and not to compare it to the comics. To be honest, nobody today would watch a show that was factually based on the original comics because it would be boring as hell. The only thing this show has done is taken the name of the town, local spots (Pop's Chock'Lit Shop, etc) and character names. Once I took my daughter's advice and "let it go", I was hooked. The show may be a little young for me, but I was still entertained with the plot twists.
