Idea for season 2 Halloween

I think they should go all out and do a 3-week October event, just taking a break from the main arc, and adapt Afterlife with Archie, having it set in an alternate reality. I love every horror/fantasy character there is except zombies, and I hate all but a couple zombie stories, except for Afterlife.

I think it could work. Grey's Anatomy did a three episode arc that did very well, it could also be used to set up a Sabrina spin-off. Also, inexplicably The Walking Dead is the most popular scripted show on television so I'm sure such a stunt would draw a lot of curious people, and it could possibly even inflate ratings for several episodes after.

Would you guys be interested? Do you think three Halloween episodes is too many?

There actually was talk of them doing Halloween specials that would deviate somewhat from the regular story lines and reference "Afterlife..." in some way, but I don't know if that will have changed between then and now. It was back when the show had been first greenlit, before they started shooting. The show already looks a bit 'odd' and myserious (based on the brief teasers we've seen) so I don't think doing full-on Halloween themed episodes with otherworldly elements would be a huge stretch.

TBH, if there's ever going to be a new Sabrina show based on "Chilling Adventures..." I'd rather they adapt it right, set in the 60s, etc. rather than spinning off from "Riverdale."

I'd love that. Chilling Adventures is even better than Afterlife. I just don't think it would happen simply because with the success of their DC event crossovers they'll most likely want to cross Archie and Sabrina too.

Plus they've already confirmed they're introducing Sabrina in the season one finale, but maybe a Sabrina spin-off could be AU.

It depends on how far "Riverdale" takes its weirdness, though. Sabrina will be portrayed as a 'cult escapee.' It's entirely possible she might still be a witch in some way (perhaps a Wiccan or neo-Pagan?), but right now, I'm thinking the 'cult' connection is a way to nod to her character's history as a witch without being overt. Like, it sets her apart from everyone else and gives her a weird, very mysterious backstory that has echoes of witch covens or devil worship, etc. that could still be integrated into a non-supernatural show. Even though "Riverdale" is referencing "Twin Peaks" in its tone and style, it'd be a bit of a stretch to introduce a character with magical powers and a talking cat.

The 60s setting of "Chilling Adventures..." is so important to its atmosphere and overall presentation, I'd honestly be very disappointed if they adapted it and changed things in order to connect it to "Riverdale."
