Will there be zombies like in the comics?
And Sabrina?
shareNo zombies... as of yet. They've said there are plans to expand the universe and that there's room for all sorts of things, but as far as we know, "Riverdale" will be teen-mystery-drama and not supernatural.
“Some people don’t even know that Sabrina is in the Archie family,” said Aguirre-Sacasa at the Television Critics Association panel (via EW). “There is absolutely a universe where Sabrina pops up in Riverdale or one town over in Greendale. Certainly, the priority is launching Riverdale and making sure that show is as good as it can be and as embraced as we want it to be. I’ll just tease that Sabrina has potential with a capital P.”
Roberto did mention once since the CW move about possible Halloween specials, but just in passing and not as firmly as it sounded as when the show was at FOX. I do hope it'll launch a Sabrina spin-off though. If PLL can do a supernatural spin-off this show can do it too.

That's a pity he didn't expand on it more; I loved the idea of them doing full-on Halloween specials separate from the regular continuity. I'm glad it's still on the table, though, I guess; it was ages ago the last time I heard it mentioned.
Just a Jeannie in a bottle...
I would love to see "Afterlife with Archie" used as a basis for the show, but I doubt it will happen. There's no going back from the zombie apocalypse, so I assume they will never show that side of the story.
I hope they introduce a Sabrina character, even if it's only a minor role and it's only alluded to that she may not be "normal."
That's why the zombie episodes would be self-contained and non-canon...
