Nothing screams America more than Archie. He's the quintessential all American guy. Imagine my horror visiting the Riverdale Twitter, and seeing the actor playing Archie speak.

I give zero *beep* about the nationality of the star. Zero. If less were zero were possible, that's what I'd give. :) And the beauty of acting is you can be from ANYWHERE and play a character from ANYWHERE else.
Plus I always have fun watching Australian/NZ actors trying to hide their accent. Why you wanna take that away from me?

I just want him to be a more convincing ginger. They did a single process lightening on his hair (you can tell by the translucent effect in certain lighting conditions) and they didn't even bother to lighten his eyebrows.
Maybe when they start getting ratings and making money they can fix that hair. Or just show the dye bottle in Archie's bathroom and explain he's a metrosexual, I can handle that, just don't try to tell me that hair color from season one is natural, show.
Knowing todays politics and trends in movies/TV it will probably be a female Japanese lesbian. And anyone who complains about it will be labled a racist.

I couldn't care less. If Scarlet O'Hara could be played by a Brit and the quintessential Brit character Bridget Jones could be played by an American, all is fair in love and casting ;)
Hot guys + dark subject matter + plenty of violence = watchable television.
