Right now, Mark Waid's revamped comic still has a lot of the innocence of the original. There are some suggestive things but Archie is still our Archie. It's just more serialized.
That's what Archie Horror is for. Riverdale is only around because people loved Afterlife's dark take on Archie (that's what first introduced the twincest as well) and the pilot was announced shortly after.
Hoping Jughead: The Hunger "pilot" ends up an ongoing series.
Also hoping for an NC17-rated slasher type title in the future as well. :D

I never read the comics. I had no idea they dabbled in the occult (Sabrina) or twincest. I thought Cheryl and Jason were a little creepy but I attributed that to their shrill coloring.
