If the reviews are good...

UPDATED WITH NEW REVIEWS.

If the reviews for the show are good, will all the stubborn "No Jack... no 24" fans at least give it a shot?? If you don't like it after the premiere, don't watch it. But, as fans of 24 don't we all owe it to the writers and creators to tune in? I know some of you will say that they hated the writers decisions at the different points in the show (i.e. Kim's storylines, Tony being evil, S6), but without them there wouldn't be a 24 in the first place.

Jack Bauer is ICONIC, but 24 didn't just create an awesome hero, they created a whole universe within the show. I'm OK with us following a new character for a while and seeing how sometimes it ties back in with the old 24. Its the like the upcoming spinoff of "The Good Wife", Julianna Margulies won't be in it, but it'll be THAT world.

If JK Rowling decided to do another book series about a new generation of students at Hogwarts, I'd miss Harry but I'd still read it. (Fantastic Beasts isn't a book so I thought it would be a poor example)

I'm pleading with all those who stuck up their noses at it, to simply watch the first episode. Thats it, if you hate it or can't get over not seeing Jack, you can totally stop.

So far, there are 5 reviews I can find. 4 are really positive and one is so-so/negative.

At first I was on the fence, but I have decided to give it a shot.

The review is for the pilot, which the writers spent a year developing. It seems they went all out for the pilot episode, making it super action packed, and bringing Stephen Hopkins in to direct. It seems like it has the potential to get too "big" like season 6 (which had one of the best starts of any season). Good season openers don't always lead to good seasons of 24 and vice versa (I always thought season 3 had one of the weakest openers, but wound up being one of the best seasons).

I'm definatley all in for this show now

This feels like such a "glass half empty" way to look at it. A LOT of shows have good season premieres that lead to great seasons. Season 5 of 24, the most celebrated, also had a great premiere. By your post it feels like you've totally closed your mind to this and nothing can sway you otherwise. I'm aware the reviews are only for the pilot, like all tv reviews for new NETWORK shows usually are. I don't know, I guess I'm of the mind that we shouldn't *beep* on something until we've seen it. I'm not even saying it's gonna be good. Im saying let's not form an opinion until we've seen more than a 2 min trailer and a couple random interviews.

If you really want to reward the show, go out and buy a Ford. We don't owe them anything. Especially not an open mind after the last few seasons and the LAD disaster. That said, the pilot is probably amazing. Post Superbowl slot is a huge deal.
