We love Jack, that goes without saying. But 24 as a whole is still an amazing show and an amazing concept. Tony will be in the new show as well so if he comes back, why can't Jack? It will still be the new main character but seeing those familiar faces with a new twist and energy will help the show. I would watch an infinite amount of the old 24 with jack. Doesn't matter how many new seasons they made. But many people got tired of the same recycled plots with a terror attack, a mole in ctu, jack saves the day but they find out there's an even bigger threat, jack saves the country but gets thrown to the wolves. Let's give the new show a chance.

Btw, i was never tired of 24 and the recycled plots. There was always something intense and new that kept you on the edge of your seat.
Of course the first 5 seasons are the best ones (season 5 is my favorite) but i enjoyed every single season.

24 is not like 007. You can't just sub in a new actor and everything's ok. That almost never works, and I think the Gibson/Hardy switch in Mad Max Fury Road is the lone exception. But they did a Transporter without Statham, a Terminator without Arnold, now a 24 without Kiefer??? What's next a Die Hard without Bruce Willis?!?! No Kiefer No 24!

I got a screener of the first episode yesterday. I watched the first 10 seconds. Without Keifer's voice saying "The following takes place...", I totally lost interest.
