An evidence locker and $4million that unsecure LOL

Every beat cop apparently has the key code to that evidence locker with nobody guarding it LOL.

reply

Yeah. I'm doubting they leave $4 million lying around in an evidence room.

reply

Totally unbelievable. And wouldn't they have cameras on every hallway and especially in the evidence locker (if not someone on duty there)?

reply

They had cameras in those places but CTU hacked in and ran a loop showing an empty hallway and evidence room.

reply

For an internal place like this, and since the ones monitoring the room/hallway are likely onsite, why would there be a need for the cameras to be "online" and hack-able?

That's the way to defeat the "looped empty room" situation. Example. If I have a safe in my basement, and have a camera on it that runs the feed to my bedroom upstairs, it's not linked to any external system. Therefore, it's not able to be hacked.

I know I know, it's just a TV show. But 24 is pulling out every tired old cliché plot line there is. From "The Mole" to the "Cut/hack the loop feed". It's like they are following their formula to the letter. But that formula, with the exception of the "24 - events occur in real time" idea, was full of tired old clichés to begin with. So they leave themselves open to this kind of criticism.
