I thought that Alex would be..

... the gay one, not Elena. Early in the season, he seemed very into himself and his looks and not in a masculine way.

I actually thought the same thing. That would have been a much more interesting choice, from a storytelling perspective. Especially since they've written Elena to be such a walking stereotype.

I still think they are both gay.

You people talk about Alex in stereotypical terms and you think that would be the better storyline? Seriously?

And how is Elena a stereotype? Oh right, all women who are feminists must be lesbian. Geez.

Try getting out and meeting real people for a change.

You don't see that Elena has almost ALL the stereotypical lesbian/feminist traits? Her character seems to be manufactured by folks with an obvious political agenda. The lack of any subtle nuances which could set her apart from this "cookie cutter" SJW PC lesbian walking billboard are insulting to real people.

If Alex was gay, it would be more interesting, simply because it would be a surprising character development. As the OPs stated, he "seems" gay initially but is shown otherwise. If he was crafted like Elena, there would not be any question. Viewers would have been shocked if the final episode had Elena realizing she actually liked boys AND Alex admitted he had questions developing about Finn, etc. But no...that would not fit their agenda driven format.

Elena IS a ridiculous stereotype, as is Carmen. And the worst one is Victor, clearly penned by someone who is anti man, anti Catholic and anti military. Frankly, most of the show is tired old racist jokes, only with reverse targeting.
